Sacred Seven Episode 3 – Knight Nijima is “It”
So now we’re back to that one-winged angel who looks like a dark version of angemon. Knight Nijima, one of the first characters that appeared in episode 1 is now the center of Episode 3’s story.
Spolers Follow
Episode 3 starts with an action scene in a bridge where the black angemon (lol. Sorry if I call him that way) attacks Kenmi, a holder of the sacred seven and a scientist who “takes care” of other sacred seven holders in a “research facility.”
Kenmi is actually on his way to Ruri’s mansion to ask for her, the butler’s, and Arma’s help. It is revealed that Knight Nijima and a certain girl named Fei escaoed from Kenmi’s research facility. It is also revealed that for one sacred seven holder not to full transform into a Darkstone, there is a certain red-colored medicine to counter it. And Knight Nijima needs that. Believing that they are doing something good, Ruri, Kagami the butler and Arma decide to lend a hand.
Meanwhile, Knight Nijima went back to his hideout. Apparently a girl is with her named Fei. He is now running low on medicine and he needs to get back to that research facility to get one.
Even with the facility heavily guarded, Knight decided to enter it the most stupidest of way – in front. He takes care of Kagami and his “mecha” with a snake-like form that seems to be invulnerable with bullets. Kagami goes straight to the incinerator to get the medicine (I wonder why it’s there.) Of course it’s a trap. But Kenmi noted earlier that Knight is one of the most powerful sacred seven holder so he manages to escape the trap.
He finally reaches Kenmi and tries to kill him. But Arma is there to stop him. Knight and Arma fight each other. There is this one scene where Knight mentions that people like them are supposed to be free. This gives me an impression that Kenmi is doing something bad to them in the facility. But Arma is also powerful (lol. Main character cliché.) Knight escapes the facility and murmurs to himself that he has found his next target, completely forgetting the medicine that he so badly needs.
Impressions
This show is starting to look like a pure shounen type anime with more shounen clichés than ever. There are some plot holes such as Knight’s idea to enter the facility in front and the fact that he did not try to find another medicine even when it’s supposed to be super important as he is running low on surprised. Instead, he decided to just forget about it and satisfy his grudge against Kenmi and even flees the facility without that medicine. For the purpose of analogy, let’s just say that Knight is dying and that this medicine will cure him. Why flee the facility without it? It is so totally lame. Really. And the fact that he just thought about his next target is even lamer.
Final Thoughts
Sacred Seven is starting to feel like I can just skip 4 episodes and watch it in one go just to make myself feel that this anime is good. But we’ll have to take note that the anime is still in its third episode. We’ll wait next week If it will become better
The Good: Action. Fight Scenes. Chase Scenes. What else?
The Bad: Why not desperately look for that medicine Knight?
The O_O: The butler Kagami. I feel sorry for him. He doesn’t have power and all that. Yet he tries to fight with his poor copy of a Knightmare even though he knows he’s just acting as either a bait, or a sacrifice. But yeah. You’re a butler and you dedicate yourself for the well being of Ruri.
