Crap! I watched episode 6 before 5. Thank goodness I notice it ^_^

Armand, a former subordinate of Huey during the war, comes to Huey’s residence looking for a certain phantom book. Viola, a high-end brothel (though I never think of her that way in  the course of the episode) asks 5 people to search for a specific phantom book. The one who will get the book will be the one that she will marry.

Huey, Dalian, and Armand go to Viola’s residence. They find Viola in the balcony crying while looking at the moon. It seems that Armand is really captivated by her. However, Dalian goes straight to the point and asks her why she wants the phantom books. To which Viola vaguely answers.

this shot is actually amazing. Have the speaker's reflection in the glass while speaking her lines. Well done Gainax. Well done

Just then, they are attacked by a mysterious white being which tells them of a Count that will come and retrieve Viola on the night of the full moon. Huey and Dalian say they will be back on that night.

The night of the full moon comes. A lot of men gather in Viola’s residence to protect her from the count. Including the 5 people who search for the phantom books in Huey’s residence (even Armand obtains one.)

Soon, the count comes and announces that he will retrieve Viola. The men who gathered there counter the count with gunfire. It seems that the count is invulnerable to bullets. In one stroke of his staff, he proceeds to kill everyone. He then reveals that Viola is a doll and he is her creator. Viola’s objective is to lure men so that the Count can study her memory and find out what causes people to fall into her. He also will find out what memory triggers for Viola (his doll) to have an ego to defy him.

Dalian and the Count meet. Dalian mentions she did not expect for a true magician of high-caliber to still exist, to which the Count responds that he too did not expect for the bibioprincess to be real. Dalian explains to Huey that the Count is a true magician who doesn’t use a phantom book to display his power.

The Count proceeds to finally get Viola but the five people who have a phantom book each bow to protect the woman. At this point, the Count plans to kill them all, until Dalian instructs Huey to use his key into the mystical archives.

This time, it is not Huey who reads the books but the five men who have them (one for each of them.) The books, according to Dalian, choose them. Each book serves as a counter to one of the Count’s magic. And since it was Viola who requested for the men to find the books, it means Viola has been preparing to defeat the Count all this time.

The Count acknowledge his defeat and let Viola live the life she wants until the day she wishes to return to him. He becomes cryptic with Dalian, telling her that they will meet again.

At the end of the episode, the 5 men who have the phantom books returns them to Huey, telling him they no longer need it. They now ask for Viola to choose who they will marry. To their surprise, Viola chooses someone not from them, a Baron. This Baron was absent from all that has happened in the episode. The 5 men are shocked and in disbelief.

Impressions:

The episode is amazing. If not for the last scene which serves as an anticlimax for all that has happened.

Anyway, yes, another amazing episode of Dantalian no Shoka. I am surprised that Huey does not read a book this time. You see, instead of presenting us with Huey and Dalian opening the archives over and over again each episode, we are always presented with an alternative way for Huey and Dalian to solve a conflict that is happening. That is one of the strong points of this anime.

Dantalian no Shoka Episode 6 The Libricide Officer

Whoah! No Huey or Dalian in this episode. However, we are introduced to Hal Kamhout and Flam Berge, two people who quite look like Huey and Dalian. While riding in their motorcycle, they are interrupted by a policewoman named Mabel Nash. She says she receives a report about two people in a motorcycle. Since the two don’t have  a place to stay, Mabel offers her home, insisting she wants the two under her guard.

At Mabel’s home they are greeted by Mabel’s grandmother and grandfather. Mabel’s younger sister is hostile and wants Hal and Flam to leave the town.

While everyone is asleep, Hal sneaks out to investigate a certain part of the town that is blockaded. In there he finds the remnant of a town destroyed by the war. While investigating, Hal encounters a prostitute turned doll. Hal fights this doll and goes to Mabel’s place.

Hal finds the young girl sleeping beside Flam. The girl gives them information that all the people who have become guests in the house never goes back. Hal and Flam goes to the factory.

This factory is once for weapon building. But the war is over so Flam wonders what the factory exists for. Hal kicks one of the boxes to find that the factory is now manufacturing dolls. The town where they are now has a citizen of dolls and not real humans all because of Mabel Nash.

Hal and Flam confronts Mabel Nash in the factory. In here she reveals her past and that of the town. It was destroyed in the war. But on that fateful night she encounters the so-called Black princess who gives her a phantom book – one capable of turning dolls to act like real humans. Mabel blockaded the ruined town and proceeds to build a new town that is exactly like the old one. But it is these dolls that causes people to disappear. When the dolls encounter a person not from the town, they begin to panic and then attack the cause of that panic – hence murder.

Mabel proceeds to attack Hal and Flam to which Hal counters by opening Flam’s library insider her. Yes. Flam Berge is a book keeper similar to Dalian while Hal is a key keeper like Huey. These two are actually looking for a girl with a locket and a tall man which I can infer to be Dalian and Wes, Huey’s grandfather. Hal proceeds to get a book inside Flam. Mabel says that there is no time to read a book with all the dolls attacking them. But Hal however put the book in his staff and acts as a fuel to burn the dolls away.

Hal and Flam returns the unconscious Mabel to her younger sister and tells them that Mabel now doesn’t have any memory of meeting the black princess.

Impressions:

This show never fails to amaze me. Just when I thought I will get to see Huey and Dalian again, I am presented with Hal and Flam, two people who are both like Huey and Dalian yet also opposite. While Huey is a calm and serious man, Hal is a serious from the get-go. What I don’t like about them is perhaps the way they talk. It is full of cursing and swearing to the point that I don’t want to hear them again. Saying “piece of trash” over and over again to a person is utterly disrespectful, mind you, Hal.

Now, these two are actually looking for Dalian and Wes. But as we know, Wes died in the start of the series, making Dalian and Huey as their target. But as to why, I still don’t know. In the flashback we get to see someone who looks like Dalian, but only younger. A man is with him which can be implied as Wes. They give Mabel the phantom book. We all know from episode 1 that Wes has been collecting the books that can cause serious harm to people if put in wrong hands. Does that mean they thought Mabel is a worthy keeper of the phantom book that turns lifeless dolls to act like real human beings? That I still don’t know.

OR it can be that the girl in the flashback and the man with her is NOT Dalian and Wes. Lol. I’mjust saying that this show is full of surprises we’ll never know what the next episode will present us.

Safu returns to No. 6 because of the death of her grandmother. The latter is in Twilight House, which from what I think, is a sort of cemetery in No. 6. Safu wonders if her grandmother was happy in Twilight House. The grandmother left some personal effects on Safu, and Safu smells them and realizes they don’t have the smell of her grandmother. She tries to contact Shion via her No. 6 bracelet but is surprised that the bracelet produces no results.

She goes to Karan, Shion’s mother. Safu presses Karan for information to which she gives in. Safu finds out that Shion is in the west district and she will look for him. After she leaves Karan’s house, the Bureau of Public Security takes Safu away.

Meanwhile, Shion is still determined to save No. 6 especially that her mother is there. This marks the nth time that they have this argument of Shion saving No. 6 while Nezumi wanting it destroyed. Nezumi again mentions that soon they will be enemies.

While Shion is gone, one of Nezumi’s rat comes and delivers Kara’s message to him. Safu is in danger and she pleads for Nezumi to help her. Now it’s not the problem of saving Nezumi. But what is more pressing is if Nezumi should tell Shion about it or not.

Impressions:

Okay. I’m totally irked at Safu at this point. Lol. Of course we know that the bracelet has some sort of microphone that sends sounds directly to the government. Safu stupidly (sorry for the word) and explicitly asks to be taken away by the government. Lol.

No. 6 Episode 7 Shion Finds Out

Nezumi visits Inukashi’s place and offers her a job – to look for information about the correctional facility. Inukashi is shocked as info about the place is very hard to get and will cost a lot of money. Nezumi gives all his money as payment.

Meanwhile, Karan looks for Safu in the database of the government, but the personnel mentions that there is no record related to “someone” named Safu. Shocked and in disbelief, Karan sits in a park and wonders about the things she has lost – her son and now Safu. An old woman comes asking Karan why is she sad, this old woman mentions how happy she is to live in an utopia which is No.6, before Karan could say anything, Yoming appears, grabs her, and instructs her to play along.

The old woman, Yoming suspects, could be an accomplice of the government. Karan is now a dissenter but has not mentioned anything. As soon as she does, she will be taken away like Shion and Karan were before her. Yoming is investigating No. 6.

Meanwhile, Rikiga and Shion are in the western district market. Rikiga insists that he buys Shion some clothes. In the clothes shop, however, Shion finds a familiar jacket which belongs to Safu.

Inukashi tells Nezumi that Shion knows about Safu in the correctional facility and plans to go there without telling him.

Lol

At his hideout, Nezumi finds Shion preparing a delicious dinner for both. Shion is so positive as he always is and mentions that he is glad to have met Nezumi and gives him a goodnight kiss.

Nezumi however knows that the kiss is actually a farewell one.

Nezumi confronts Shion on the outskirts of No. 6’s wall. In here, Shion finally exclaims that he wants to be Nezumi’s equal, not someone that needs to be taken with utmost care. Nezumi mentions how Shion saved his life 4 years ago (episode 1.) And he is truly grateful for that.

Impressions:

In this episode, I feel bad for Safu. :Really… She was seen here in a tube, becoming a sample to the government.

If an average viewer can set the shounen – ai things aside, one will find that this anime is really interesting. It’s like Safu, Karan, Shion, and Nezumi are just a small part in the grander scheme of things- No. 6 and its government.

And no. I will not mention anything about the kiss. Lol.

The question now is how they will able to save Safu.

No. 6 Episode 8 – The Origins of No.6

The anime thinks it’s high time to discuss the origins of No. 6 – its foundation and how does it turn out to be what it is now.

Shion and Nezumi visit a hideout near in the outskirts of No. 6. In there they find one of the scientist who originally plans for No. 6 foundations. This is also the same guy who gave Nezumi his name. This person tells them exactly how No. 6 was formed.

Just then, Nezumi goes into ecstasy when he hears a song in his head – the same one in episode 5.

In the aftermath of multiple wars that destroys civilization, the key people find 6 habitable areas for people to live. No. 6 is one of those. However, the founding principle of No. 6 is albeit different from the others. They want No. 6 to be a true utopia – one where there is a lasting peace and zero crime. This guiding principle which is noble to begin with has an impact. As they desire to create a utopia, the government crushes those that will shake the foundation of No. 6 – even those who express their doubts, and they will do any means just to make sure that the utopia will happen – even if they resort to murder.

And then he met Elyrurias. She is described as a sovereign ruler with power that is beyond human. The scientist became obsessed with her and researched about her. That is the reason they (the leaders of No. 6) tried to kill him. So he and other people who were chased to death escape to that ravine where they are now.

This Elyurias lives with the “forest folk” – peace loving people to which Nezumi is born. These “forest folk” has Elyurias as their sovereign ruler and they worshipped her. It only took some time until No. 6 sought Elyurias’ power and destroyed these people. Nezumi is the only survivor of the forest folk.

Nezumi mentions that he doesn’t know Elyurias, but the scientist says the he (Nezumi) hears her song and Elyurias is calling him. Before they leave, the man gives Shion a data card which, according to him, contains all the information he has research before; the forest folk, No. 6, everything that they need.

At Nezumi’s hideout they find Rikiga and Inukashi. They need Rikiga’s help to get the information they need to infiltrate the correctional facility. This team of 4 people is about to do the impossible – saving Safu.

Impressions:

And that is a long one. Plenty of information has been given to us again that I need to re-watched episode 8 to comprehend it well. And thank God there are no Shounen-ai subtleties in this episode but focuses more on the plot that is about to climax in the next episodes.

This anime is going to end in around episode 11 or 13 (?) and I’m fairly certain that it will end with a bang. n_n

First, I want to apologize for not updating the blog for quite some time. I always thought that I will have time to watch anime after work. But I got busy with work like literally spending almost 12 hours in the office. All I can do is sleep at home.

So for now, I’ll be updating the blog by putting all the episodes I have missed in 1 post. I’ll start with No.6 n_n And don’t ask me why I have to start with that anime. n_n

Beni Botan, the art genius takes an interest on Narukara, our genius clarinet player. However, Ran, the genius programmer and one of the stronger characters in the series in terms of personality, will not let that happen.

Beni Botan is not your typical art genius. She treats her subjects as a drawing board and paints on their bodies. She got Ran’s sister, but now, she takes an interest to Narukara. Ran will not let that happen.

A school announcement instructs Narukara to go to the Avante-garde studio which, as Ran suspects, has Beni Botan as its chairman. Beni is about to paint on Narukara but thankfully, Ran interrupts them. Beni however teases Ran that she (Ran) is not good with girls. In order to know who rightfully “posses” Narukara, the two will settle their score in a unique wrestling match.

I called it wrestling but it is not actually is a wrestling match. The two are on the ring trying to make the other fall to her knees in surrender. The only method of fighting is, well, seduction (LOL! I can’t find a gentler word other than that.) At first Beni is winning the match but thankfully the pervert Taketo catches her off guard. He grabs the announcer’s microphone and try to tell a story which directly affects Beni Botan. This causes Beni to be in a state of ecstasy hereby giving Ran a chance to steal the match.

Impressions

As you can see, I tried my best to keep this post not be rated as “Mature.” Lol. There is so much ecchiness that I starts to wonder if it really is an ecchi anime since it is trying to go to that borderline.

My only comment is that for this particular episode, the characters slightly look older than in the previous one. I don’t know if it’s just me but I certainly took notice of that. Taketo’s hair seems messy (well still neat but not as neat as in the previous episodes.) And the eyes. I think something has change with the characters’ eyes. Is it the lost of sparkle? I can only guess. But certainly, something has change (even if it is hardly noticeable) in the character designs.

The Good: ecchi

The Bad: The characters’ eyes seem bland. (I am not dismissing the fact that my copy of the episode is at fault here)

The O_O: Wow! Ran is one hell of a hacker. She manages to shut down major computer networks of important organizations in the world. lol xD

Nezumi is going out for a bit and he doesn’t want Shion to come with him. Shion meanwhile wonders (for the nth time) why Nezumi hates No. 6 so much.

The reporter from the previous episode episode appears with a juicy gossip – that people are having unusual disease in No. 6. Perfectly healthy humans suddenly age and then die in an instant. Inukashi thinks it’s mere gossip while Shion admits he had that disease but miraculously survived because of Nezumi. Shion decides to tell this to Nezumi.

So England doesn't exist in the current No. 6 timeline. whoah!

Safu, currently in No. 5 is living a school life. Her friends there tell her that she is different but nevertheless enjoys her company. She sees her friend and a guy kissing to which they were embarrassed but Safu tells them not to worry because it is just natural. She and the other students are going to a museum.

In his quest to find Nezumi, the reporter leads him to the place where a play is happening. It is the final night of “Hamlet” and Nezumi is an actor there. While watching the play, Shion finds Nezumi in the stage dressed in woman’s clothes. BUT he actually doesn’t seem to be bothered about it.

In case you don't know. This is Nezumi

Nezumi, while speaking his lines, suddenly sees Shion in the back seat and grows awry. Yes. He doesn’t want Shion to see him this way. But he continues speaking anyway up to the point where there is a gust of wind that makes him faint. A similar incident occurs to Safu while she is looking at images of bees.

Nezumi wakes up in their hideout with Shion extremely worried about him. Shion exclaimes that for a moment he thought a bee would spring out of Nezumi’s neck. He is extremely worried and afraid of losing Nezumi as he is the only one he has right now.

Nezumi is now questioning emotions and wonders why he is so defenseless in front of Shion.

Whew!! Thankfully, I survived another episode of No. 6. This anime has to be proud that it has an extremely interesting story that even someone like me is watching it.

We found out in episode 3 that Shion is Nezumi’s weakness. In this episode Nezumi realizes that he is defenseless in front of him and wonders why. AS IF WE DON’T KNOW WHERE THIS WILL LEAD TO!

Anyway, as more people are becoming aware of the unusual wasps in No. 6, it’s only a matter of time when this even will climax. And oh boy the shounen-ai subtleties are not subtle anymore. Lol.

The Good: Interesting story backdrop from start to finish.

The Bad: Nezumi plays as Ophelia in the play yet his voice is still masculine. lol

The O_O: I can’t find the connection as to why Nezumi and Safu both faint at the same time

The geology club (note: Kagami, Ruri, and Arma are part of it) has a camping near a mountain. Their goal is to collect stones (which they usually do.) The three however, sense a darkstone living in the pyramid-shaped mountain. Kagami decides to fight the darkstone himself and tasks Arma to protect Ruri should ever something happens.

And so Kagami proceeds to the mountain cave and find insect-like monsters which might be the darkstone’s spawns. However, what Kagami thought to be just a weak monster turns out to be a powerful one. An explosion occurs and Ruri senses that it is near the mountain. She thinks Kagami is in danger so she runs in the direction of the mountain cave. Arma follows. The two are caught in an earthquake which makes them fall down in the underground.

While Kagami continues his search for the darkstone, he sees Ruri unconscious. They are both trap in the very center of the mountain where the darkstone is living. It wants Ruri but Kagami vows not to let it. Meanwhile, they heard Arma’s scream and they find out that he was underneath them. Kagami breaks through the ground so that Ruri can give the jewel so that he can transform. With Arma and his Sacred Seven powers activated, they manage to defeat the darkstone.

Impressions:

This is another filler episode which I enjoy nonetheless. It is a sort of continuation of the previous episode where there is some pseudo-rivalry between Arma and Kagami on who can protect Ruri. This episode proves that Arma cannot do everything alone. He needs Ruri (of course) and the two needs Kagami to cover for them. Plain and simple.

It looks like Knight Nijima will be back in the next episode!

The Good: Some back story between Kagami and Ruri

The Bad: Seriously, it should be Kagami X Ruri and not Ruri X Arma. Lol. Ruri mentions before the Arma saved her life once when she was a child and it looks like Ruri has a crush on him. But seriously, KAGAMI HAS BEEN SAVING AND CARING FOR HER EVER SINCE HE WAS A KID! Why can’t she see that? xD

The O_O: The other characters are so forgettable o.o

When both finally reach Lenny’s workplace, Paula, who introduced herself as Lenny’s wife, greets them. She exclaims that Lenny does not want to be disturb and tells them to come back the next day. However, Dalian notices a contradiction in Lenny’s book, which he dedicated to his late wife. So why does Paula introduces herself as such?

Huey and Dalian both come back at night and trespass Lenny’s workplace. To their surprise, Lenny is already dead and a woman is there who introduces herself as Leticia, Lenny’s lover. She pleads the duo to leave and come back the next day to save Lenny. But Lenny is already dead and does not need saving. If there is someone who needed to be saved, it should be Leticia herself. So both Huey and Dalian are puzzled at this development, but both take their leave to come back the next day.

Huey and Dalian reaches Lenny’s home and both are surprise to see Lenny alive! They confirm it to be the real Lenny because of the exact same signature in Lenny’s autograph and his signature in the book. So Huey and Dalian return at night to find what is happening.

To their surprised, they see Leticia dead.

Lenny and Paula appear from the door. To their shock, it appears that both Lenny and Leticia are both Paula’s hostages. Paula is actually an obssessed fan of Lenny who now wants to dictate the direction of his last book. She has in her possession a phantom book – The book of soul exchange.

When Paula kills Lenny at this point, Dalian tells Lenny to watch. To his surprised, a glowing circle appears around Lenny and Leticia’s body, and then Leticia was resurrected. Paula then shoots Leticia again, and then Lenny comes back from the dead.

The Book of Soul Exchange is responsible for this phenomenon – two people are exchanging their souls – when one dies the other will live, and when that person dies, the other person will return from the living again. It appears that this process has been going on for a long time now with Paula killing Lenny and Leticia every other day.

But Dalian appears to know the outcome of this endless cycle of death and rebirth – resistance to death itself. She explains the analogy of insects developing resistance to pesticides being sprayed against them again and again. Both Leticia and Lenny – both dying over and over again soon develop a resistance to death itself. In the climax of the episode, Leticia and Lenny, engulf in green flames, sprang to life in spirit form, devour Paula and depart from the living world.

Impressions

WOW!! This episode is disturbingly awesome to watch.

The fact that the two characters experience death and rebirth over and over again is quite disturbing to watch, and the gruesome and merciless killing of Paula to the two is really like that of a serial killer.

One of the most disturbing perhaps is when Paula, with no bullets to fire, turns to hitting Lenny in his head quite a number of times and blood splattering all over the place. And oh boy, look at her scary eyes and the expression on her face. She kinda looks possessed.

I hope future episodes of the series will be like this. While it is not as action packed as other anime out there – it tells a story full of vivid imagery and symbolism. It can make you feel interested even without any action scenes. The episode reminds us of what obsession can do to a person, it can really kill.

And well, love is powerful. I know it sounds cliché but the episode proves that it’s true. Look at Lenny and Leticia even overcoming death. Maybe the “love is powerful” thing is way over the top and is taken literally in this episode. But still, whatever form it may be, I definitely believe on that. ^_^

The Good: Awesome episode from start to finish!

The Bad: Where is Huey’s gun skills?

The O_O: Nothing really, well if you don’t count that scene where Huey looks calm while someone is dying in front of him.

When he opens his locker, Taketo picks up a love letter inside it. The catch is that it doesn’t contain a letter, but a picture of a girl’s behind in a panty that has a bear printed in it. Taketo thinks this person wants him and so he searches for the girl with the teddy bear panties.

Meanwhile, it seems that everywhere Taketo goes, a gust of wind follows him – making every girl’s skirt flip up. This actually makes Taketo’s search easier but of course, it puts him in a bad situation at all. A lot of complaints are received by the school against him due to the fact that everywhere he goes, the girls’ skirts flip up.

Thankfully, Taketo finds the culprit – the genius scientist Kagaku-san. She exclaims that Raika asks her to do it.

Taketo confronts Raika and asks her why she is doing that to him. Raika explains that she is a photographer and her job is to take the most perfect and ugly shot, especially of Taketo. Taketo is of course, a porn writer and is a perfect subject for Raika’s pictures. But Taketo seems to fail her. Taketo, even with all her wildest fantasies, doesn’t seem to go over the top, and this makes Raika mad.

She goes to extreme measures such as taking him to the girl’s bathroom and locker room just to take a picture of him. In the locker room, Raika decides to take action and tries to seduce Taketo herself.But while she is taking off her upper clothes, she notices the mirrors and all images of her looking in her direction. At this point, Raika becomes aware of what she’s doing and feels embarrassed of her own shamefulness.

The next day, it seems that Raika is out on her slump and is not acting way over the way she was. It seems that she is thinking that he and Taketo can make a good team.

O_O what?

Ooh. First off, I’m sorry if there are almost no panty shots in this weekly review. Just find those somewhere else.

Atleast, I think for now the Raika arc is over (or maybe not as hinted by the preview)

What else is there to say? Ecchi stuff are everywhere in this episode. Atleast there’s this one good moment where Raika is looking at many mirrors. It is actually a somewhat powerful scene and one who is watching the episode for its ecchiness will also stop thinking of anything at that very scene.

Good job R-15. I enjoy this episode for its light-hearted tone; a stark contrast to all the serious anime I’ve been watching so far.

The O_O: Nothing really, if you will not count the scientist Kagaku becoming annoying (at least for me. But don’t mind me xD)

Ruri has been waiting for the school fair. She, as the chairman of the school, is busy preparing for it when Kagami is informed that a darkstone is in the school. Fortunately, this darkstone is relatively weaker compared to those that appeared in the previous episodes. So Kagami is determined to take on it head-on without telling Ruri because of one thing – telling her will mean that she will cancel the school fair, which Kagami doesn’t want to happen since she has been waiting for that for quite some time now.

Holy Crap!! 140 million for a freaking stone that Arma will just waste?_?

But of course, Arma wants to help too (insert main character syndrome xD) with a hint given by that hellbrick, he tells Ruri that he wants to practice in using his Seven powers. Well, initially, the idea is to tell Ruri something close to “I have feelings for you.” But when he cannot say it directly, he thinks it is just stupid and tries to walk away. But Ruri holds her hand and agrees to what Arma wants (the practice.)

In a sudden turn of events, the darkstone, in a form of a snake with scales like that of an armadillo, splits into two. This leaves Kagami and Arma with no choice but to chase them separately. This darkstone has the ability of turning everything in its path into breakable stone. An accident occurs in the quadrangle and Arma has no choice but to help. Thankfully, Kagami has already killed one of the darkstones and can now help Arma too.

They find the darkstone atlast which turns itself into a bomb. Arma was about to disposed of it but suddenly, his Seven powers are gone (since the stone Ruri uses to unleash his powers is just a spare one.) It is now up to Kagami to kill this darkstone. While holding the darkstone, it suddenly lit its tail end is now going to explode. Kagami throws it upwards. The darkstone explodes like firecrackers.

Meanwhile, Ruri scolds the two for not telling her what was happening. Kagami was sorry while Arma tells Ruri that Kagami did that so that the fair will not be cancelled for her sake. This softens Ruri, and while maintaining that she does not approve of what they did, she is thankful to both of them for saving the fair. She rewards both Kagami and Arma with rice balls that she made.

I can say that this is a filler episode but I enjoyed it. Why?

We get to see Kagami not on the losing side. We saw him in past episodes always acting as a bait for the enemy or even as the one that will support Arma on the side. Now I’m thinking why don’t they just make Kagami the main character in the series? Lol. Kidding aside, at least this episode gives some justice to Kagami’s character as a whole.

This episode also squeezes the personalities of our characters. Kagami seems strict and honest yet will go to desperate measures just to protect the person he cares for – Ruri. I wonder if Kagami does love Ruri. I’m not good at picking hints about that topic. xD

Arma, on the other hand, is now viewed by the students of the school as not someone who is scary to talk to or even approach. Yet everyone saw his strength and so I doubt that he will make a lot of friends in future episodes.

Overall, this episode is quite good. A perfect filler for a series which has established itself up to this point as a shounen hack n slash series.
